Xmas at Hillary's

We had a get together at the Dome Café in Hillary’s and had a fair turnout on a rainy day, but it was enjoyed by all.   We even delighted in an unexpected (and free!) performance from a group of synchronized swimmers in the water right near our table!

From all of us here in Western Australia I hope you all have a great Christmas and a safe and happy New Year.
WA Members xmas party

Heathcote Reserve again!

We all met up at Heathcote Reserve on a beautiful sunny day on Sunday 16th of November. Unfortunately not many were able to attend due to other commitments but it was good to catch up with some of the members, we even had a visit from Dr Bronwyn Stuckey, an Endocrine doctor from Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital. We had a great day and hopefully more to come. You will see from the picture it was a glorious day. I LOVE seeing the usual crowd and hope in 2015 we can welcome more new-comers.

Heathcote Reserve

We had a picnic at Heathcote Reserve. I invited younger members with their families to come along and join in as well as the  regular crew. We had a great day and the kids enjoyed the play area especially the pirate ship whilst the parents shared information between themselves and other members.

Heardsman Hotel

dinner group jul 2015 wa

On Friday 31st July it was great to see the usual crowd at dinner prior to the education events to be held the following morning. Everyone started to leave before I got a good photo!  A few new members attended and it was great to see everyone enjoying themselves.

Jetty's Restaurant

033.JPGA support breakfast was held for members and their families at Jetty’s restaurant in Hillary’s WA. It was a great turnout with 22 people coming along to catch up and chat. The buffet breakfast was enjoyed by everyone and the setting was picturesque on the calm but chilly morning. It was a great opportunity for members to link up and discuss their stories, providing encouragement and support. There was a great mix of new and established members and everyone mixed well and had a great morning!

Sizzler

Lunch at Sizzler in Riverton was lovely. Good food, great company. Those that attended were from all over the place, even Busselton!

Swan River BBQ

WA held a BBQ on the Swan river foreshore on January 16th for members, families, and friends. The day of the BBQ was sunny and clear but very warm in Perth! Although the temperature kept a few people away, there was a great turnout from WA members for the twilight BBQ and social get together. Despite a complication with the public facility BBQ’s, a filling and delicious dinner was provided by the APF and some very helpful members. A great time was had by all who attended and it was a great opportunity for everyone to catch up and relax by the beautiful river.

Peninsula Tea Gardens

A fantastic display of support from the WA members and families made for a memorable and highly enjoyable morning tea social get together in Perth. We took over three tables at the Peninsula Tea Gardens and were treated to a wonderful view and a beautiful morning tea. It was a great opportunity for members and families – both new and existing to catch up and chat and offer personal insights and support from their own experiences. We were very fortunate to have new members come along and take part and the WA support base really shone as a fantastic network of kind and supportive people willing to take the time to help others out.

The WA branch held an evening BBQ for members. The location was superb, with a lovely fresh breeze flowing off the river keeping us all cool on a very warm day. It was a great chance for members to catch up, relax and enjoy a lovely BBQ, starting 2009 on a great note. The turnout was great, with approximately 20 people attending and mingling together.

A special presentation took place, thanking Elizabeth Howell for her wonderful help as State Coordinator for many years, and thanking Lana Kelly for her ongoing support. Both Elizabeth and Lana have devoted much of their time and efforts to helping the APF since its formation.
